Just did it today for the first time.
Really easy.
Go to English --> overseas remitance --> latest remittance (choose the person to whom you are transfering money to -- this should be set up in advance) --> enter amount, password, etc. then confirm.
The fee was only 5,000won (lower than the fee they charge if you do it with a clerk), and it took about 2 minutes. The KB guy who showed me how to do it said that using the ATM meant lower fees and I wouldn't have to have my passport stamped (I refused to let him stamp my passport earlier and so he made a point to tell me this).
You will need to have done at least one overseas remittance to be able to use the bank machine I think. When I clicked 'latest remittance', a list came up of the people to whom I've wired money to in the past, and I chose the one I needed.
Very easy and straight-forward. |

F*ck me - you're kidding?
I've lived here for 6 c*nting years and never knew this!!!! Ah bugger the hours and frustration I could have saved!!!!
So I need to go in the bank and set this up first before doing international trans with the atm? Or seeing as I've sent money home a million times before with the clerk, my 'latest remittance' will show up anyhow on the atm andI just choose that?
Can you do the same at IBK as I'm a naughty boy and have seperate jobs pay me into seprate bank accounts so as not to draw attention.... |

I believe if you've sent money home before, it should show up on the list under 'latest remittances'. I don't know if the guy did anything to my account before I tried the ATM, but I'm thinking he didn't.
I can't believe how easy and quick it was. It took the same amount of time to do that then to transfer money domestically and it was cheaper too!
I think it's a relatively new service because I think it's only recently I've noticed the 'overseas remittance' button. I could be wrong tho. |
