|
|
I'm traveling to Itaewon this weekend to take in the sights. Can anyone recommend some fun stuff to do while I'm there? I'm not into bars or clubs, so excluding those two things feel free to suggest whatever comes to mind. Also, I here there are arcades there. Are they good, and do they have any English games? |

Both "What the Book" and "Foreigner's Bookstore" are great for perusing around.
There are many nice restaurants. I might recommend some of the ethnic ones: Salam, Taco Chilli, Foreign Restaurant, Dubai, Ho Lee Chow, Buddha's Belly, among others.
There is some good shopping. Be sure to bargain hard.
Coffee Bean is a nice coffee shop. There are many around. Nice antique furniture stores. Namsan Park is very nice! |

I've been so several markets in China, so I'm sure haggling isn't all that different here (I hope).
Is the name of that restaurant seriously "Foreign Restaurant"? I'm sure it took them forever to think that one up haha. |

Yes, tacky name, isn't it? It's an "Indian styled" restaurant that is owned by some nice Bengalis. I like their weekend buffet~ not too shabby. |

From Itaewon, you can take the yellow bus (number 2) up to Seoul Tower, and since it runs in a 'circle' you can also take it back to Itaewon.
You can also connect quickly (by subway) to Yoinaru, where you can find an inexpensive river cruise.
Itaewon is within walking distance (or a cheap cab fare) to the Han River rainbow water fountain at Panpo bridge.
Enjoy!!! |

Tartine is a very nice pastry shop and cafe if you've got a sweet tooth: facing the Hamilton hotel, go left. You'll walk by KFC. Turn right at the second, very narrow, alleyway. From the street you should see a sign that sticks out, red and white, that says "Tartine" on the right. Yummy! |

I love Tartine. I've almost filled up one of their loyalty card already. Their blueberry tarts are just amazing! |
