I love the stuff, but recently I've noticed the shelves are not being restocked. I've seen Homeplus do this before with other import stuff (like weetabix), so I bought four bags of Kenya AA medium roast - just in case. Is your Homeplus running low on coffee or is it just mine? |

In my experience, Homeplus often fails to reorder things BEFORE they run out. Sometimes, they will stock a product again, sometimes not. It's really hit or miss with them, so if you see something at Homeplus that isn't a Korean staple, buy it because you might not see it again. |

We drink the same coffee! Come to Daegu, the shelves are still packed with the stuff. |

They didn't restock V8 tomato juice at my local Homeplusplus. All they've got now is a bunch of brands of crappy Korean sugar tomato water. |

Don't know about the TESCO coffee, but I do know they run out of the TESCO lager on a regular basis. I buy my coffee at COSTCO. Much better and much cheaper. |

Some general advice - if a store has something you lke buy extra.
I have found with Homeplus is that when they run out it is gone for a few months. I think at homeplus they just get lazy with ordering.
Costco is half - half. If it is gone you have a half a chance of getting more a few weeks later. But the other half of the time it is gone for good. With costco if a product sells well and quickly they will bring it back. But if it takes time to unload all they brought in the first time they will not bring it back.
Same with department store grovery stores if you see something you really like buy extra. |

I don't know the reason, but it is pretty frustrating. Homeplus actually does have some pretty good generics, but I have a feeling Koreans don't buy generics much.(I have no proof, just a feeling)
Anyway, in addition to the coffee and beer already mentioned, Homeplus/Tesco puts out pretty good bran cereal, shampoo, laundry detergent and soap. My store also has a discount shelf in the corner of the store stocked with items that have been slashed in price for one reason or another. Last time I went by it they had "Sol" beer from Mexico priced at 770 won a piece. I grabbed all 17 of them. |
