This is my first year in Korea and this August was my first vacation. I wanted to go to Thailand. As such, I read the boards and am I ever glad I did.

I already had an account at NongHyup and was assured by the bank that my ATM card would work overseas in any ATM that had the Cirrus or Maestro logo. It did not.

Having read the boards and knowing that international ATMs are hit and miss with Korean cards, I decided to open a new account at KEB. I went to the branch at Jungang Dong (stop 112 on the red line) exit 14 I believe.

These people could not have been friendlier and their English was FANTASTIC. I opened the new account, ATM worked perfectly. I walked out of the bank in about 45 minutes.

I can not recommend this branch enough.
