I was fired last week and haven't been able to attend work since. I am feeling a little stronger but still not completely normal but wondering about what would happen if I asked my recruiter and boss to give me a chance to finish my contract. She stated it was not the school's decision to fire me but they had to because I was diagnosed with panic disorder by a doctor. She has already agreed for me to leave on peaceful terms, but would it be smart to try and come in to work if I feel stronger tomorrow? Please no one quote me.

Why don't you try and see what happens? The worst that can happen is they tell you not to come again (but I guess they've already dont this)

I'm scared she might think i was not really sick this whole time when that is far from the truth. I don't just miss work over nothing.

Legally can i work with the doctor diagnosis?

Give it a try.

If it doesn't work, you could just look for a job with another school and since you are in Korea it shouldnt be too difficult to get hired. Just start walking into schools and asking.

Maybe ask your recruiter to place you at a different school?

You've got plenty of options. Especially since you are in Korea right now you should have no problem.

Ok, I have been scared to ask this question because my recruiter may read these forums. But screw it. I now have my passport safe in hand and am at my in laws' place resting up. My recruiter claims she is doing me a huge favor by letting me leave Korea even though I was fired after being sick for only one day because I was literally losing my mind temporarily.

She has arranged a payment plan with me and my wife to pay her $500 in two weeks and $500 a month later. She already has my wife's credit card info. Personally, I think this is the biggest load of bullshit ever. They invite me to come around the world to teach English and fire me as soon as I am legitimately sick. The sickest I have ever been in my life...from a terrifying mental standpoint. I have rested and am almost back to normal...though everything still feels a little movie like at times and I am having to rely on Xanax. Now, I realize that they lost a lot of money on this.....but why couldn't they have said we will wait for you to get better and then you can come back to work. Instead I got you are fired but must finish working until we find a new teacher. Claimed it was out of their control because I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with panic disorder. My physical was fine. Is this true about being impossible immigration wise?

I really want to fix this with my recruiter the right way. I want to ask her, hey, can you please find me another job and I will pay you half of my first month's salary? I really wouldn't mind forking over the money if she agreed to this.

So given this info, if I ask her and she decides to decline, can she say oh you are not sick, so you owe the school this and that and you must work even though you are fired. I am NOT working somewhere where I am already fired. in my mind that is their decision and their loss. But I would be glad to do a another job and pay her half of my first salary. If she declines, is there any legal action she could take against me at this point?

I realize my recruiter and boss have lost a lot on this deal....but so have I. I payed off a university loan of $1,800 with my last bit of savings except $200 from my $11 US job just to come and teach English here instead of moving to Florida. They are about to repossess my car back home because my crappy job back there couldn't pay that the house bills and food at one time. I feel like I am in a rut and need to get out. On top of this, I have developed panic disorder over here, something I have NEVER experienced my entire life. That alone isn't worth all the money in the world. My losses are a lot bigger IMO than my hagwon's and i want to amend this entire situation with my recruiter because this will leave a sour taste forever.

Also, if she declined and I went through another recruiter, would I have to resubmit everything? Don't know where my CBC is.

Sounds like you are all cooked up and ready to be roasted.

If they have cancelled your visa there is nothing you can do but restart the precedure again.
If they haven't then you could try to convince them. Not sure how a visa transfer would work but I haven't heard of one before.

This part is startling.

She told my wife that was the only way I could get out of Korea. My wife got scared and believed her and promised to make a payment in two weeks of $500 and gave the recruiter her credit card info to process it in two weeks. I told my wife not to do that.

Well, maybe my visa isn't canceled because my recruiter claims I can leave anytime from Korea safely. Guess I will have to call her and immi to get to the bottom of this.

wtf kentucker, why you giving your woman's creditcard mang? Are you off your Goddamn rocker?

Tell your woman to cancel that credit card immediately mang. That ain't no good seriously mang.

Restart the procedure again mang. This time with a different recruiter mang. She can't be trusted mang, she's a tricksy one I tells ya.

Don't worry kentucker, I believe in you. I'm rooting for ya.

I didn't give away anything. By the way, we don't say man like that in Georgia if that's what you are referencing. Ugh, how can I restart the procedure when I don't have my CBC? That took my about a month for me to get apostled and all. I don't have that kind of time here at my in laws. I'd really like to resolve this situation with my current recruiter and just get another job. Also, there is nothing this recruiter can do to stop me from leaving the country if she changes her mind is there? Is that all BS and bluffing?

I have to ask...

If your wife is here and you are crashing at your in-laws, I am assuming your wife is Korean. Why don't you have an F-2?
