Does anyone know when Gepik will send the letters to the elementary schools for orientation? How many days does orientation consist of and what are the hours we must attend? I heard some where that it goes to 8P.M.. That is crazy if it does. I thought we are scheduled to 5P.M. the latest? |

| Last GEPIK Orientation happened 3 months after the new arrivals started teaching. Expect the same, I'd say. Days began at 9AM and finished at 5PM. There were some optional things in the evening, such as learning Korean and watching movies. If you are thinking about sneaking out and hitting the town, the locations was 2 km from the nearest bar. There was some booze available on site but not enough to get blinded. |

I was expecting around October, but I was wondering around what date should my school have the letter that is required for the school to mail back to Gepik? Is there a hooters or outback aroound there so I can have some Western food for a change? I would like to get away from Korean for a change. |

My school didn't bother to inform me, and when I brought it up, they quickly brushed it aside. I guess they don't want me to meet other foreign teachers, since I might meet friends that are better than them. |

| The food was Korean/American rotation so, you'll be able to get away from Korean food, if same location is chosen. If you want non-Korean food that bad, I suggest you learn to cook. Your co-teacher will get an e-mail from GEPIK about 3 weeks before O for confirmation of attendance. Your local area MOE may hold a weekend orientation, as well. This one may happen within the first month. I didn't go to that one. |
