I have some questions:
Do you buy maple syrup in Korea? If so, where do you buy it and which brand?
Do you know any Koreans who buy it or do you think it's just us westerners (ha ha, Canucks!) |

Never seen it but never looked for it. In some parts of the country fresh spring maple sap is enjoyed as a seasonal health drink.
How would Koreans use the syrup? Pancakes here are typically savory not sweet. |

I don't actually like maple syrup, it's too sweet. I have however, seen it at Hannam supermarket.
I was asked by my insane former director to bring a bottle of the stuff back from Canada with me, so I guess some Koreans do like it. |

Can you be more specific? Is it a Canadian product? 2500 won seems very inexpensive for imported. |

nonono it was a korean product, right beside the ketchup, in a yellow plastic squeeze bottle like the ketchup...maybe it was ottogi or something.
I found it at fresh market, adjumma shop, lotte mart, place under geckos.. everywhere. |

Did it have the name "Turkey Hill" on it? (that would be in Waterloo, Quebec)
Anyone seen maple syrup products by these guys here and if so, where did you buy them?
Am doing a little market research on this and any help would be appreciated

Will someone make me pancakes please?
For all the things and different styles of cooking I've mastered, pancakes are beyond my grasp. |

I saw a huge bottle of the stuff in Hyundai Dept store yesterday for about 23,000 won. Not sure of the brand though. |

I noticed a few giant ass bottles in Hannam Supermarket yesterday. They had a big maple leaf on the front. |

I don't think that's actual maple syrup. It's just plain Korean syrup, which Koreans put on pancakes or "hotcakes" as they call them when they eat them, which is not that often. It's butter flavoured. |

It's real what? Real maple, or real liquid sugar? Are there maple trees in Korea now? |
