So. Uncle Ben is finished in December. Or is he?
Apparently, he is eligible to hold that position again.
I haven't checked the laws and won't. But I'd think felony fraud, perjury and such would disqualify someone.
Obama's actually considering nominating him for the post. Wow.

I'm not alone in suggesting Bernie Madoff to be the next Federal Reserve Bank Chairman.
Granted his experience is small time, but certainly applicable, and he can learn.

But, what is the point of keeping Madoff in prison? He represents no threat. Rather than pay $30,000 per year to keep him locked up, we suggest that he be forced to do community service work. He should be pressed into service as the next head of the Federal Reserve after Ben Bernankes term expires in December. With Madoff in the big office, there would be no longer any illusions about what sort of bank the Fed is running....
...This year alone, the feds will borrow 50 times as much money as Bernie managed to take in during his whole 20-year career. They can only pay it back by borrowing even more money from more lenders. This is not very different from the typical Ponzi scheme, except that its the government doing it. Eventually, the suckers are going to lose a lot of money. |

Quick! Before some liberal treehugging intern notices the mistake..

An Associated Press source says President Barack Obama plans to nominate Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to a second term.
Obama is to make the announcement on Tuesday during a break from his vacation on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. The source is a senior administration official who discussed the announcement late Monday on the condition of anonymity.
Obama was first named Fed chairman by former President George W. Bush. In his announcement, Obama plans to praise Bernanke as someone who led the country through a financial crisis.
Obama plans to note Bernanke's expertise on the Great Depression of the 1930s and his efforts to prevent another crisis. |

Great idea. When it comes to running ponzi schemes, Madoff is a proven champion. The Fed could really use a proven scam-artist like him during these troubled times... |

um..
The Federal Reserve Banking cartel has Ponzi'd 50 times Bernie's career total in just one year.
Bernie is hardly a "proven champion." He just got caught.
How is it that Bernie gets 150 years in prison, yet the FED has gotten away with the same crime for almost 100 years?
The FED has pulled the wool over most folks' eyes and continues to get away with it with impunity. Please explain how.
Bernie's victims were rich, novice gamblers who lost and now whine about the house's practices.
I just think the Madoff guy has potential for greatness in the field. |

^ yeah, I was being sarcastic (thought that was obvious)... Anyway, if you read my other comments on here, you'll know I consider the Fed to be the most criminal institution of all time, and would like nothing more than to see its abolishment. Bernanke and the rest all deserve prison time for life. |

Apologies.
Not my first misunderstanding.
