If there wasn't a government I would come at you with my gang of thugs, take all your things, enslave your sons, and prostitute your daughters.

And you'd still be small potatoes compared to the mafiosos running things right now alongside the Fed. $20 odd trillion stolen and counting, not bad for a couple months in office.

Basically the government teaches the people how to be criminals, and throws them in jail for following suit (footing the rest of us the bill).

Are you saying alcoholism doesn't have social ramifications? Further, are you saying there are no social factors that can encourage alcoholism? Finally, are you saying alcoholics don't suffer social consequences?

Alcoholism is a medical problem at at the individual level, but a social problem at both the individual and societal levels as well.

I am saying that alcoholism, aka Jellinek's Disease, is best treated by medical and mental health professionals. I use MHPs there in a broad sense (i.e. it would include AA).

It certainly has social ramifications, but treat the disease, and the ramifications will decrease.
