So I downloaded the newest version of FF, 3.5.

The first time it said it couldn't download the 'short' version, and it had to download the full version. Short is in quotes there because I don't remember what the box message called it.

So it downloaded the full version, and then requested to restart. So I said yes. It reopened all my tabs, but since then there's been a major problem with gmail. Actually, major problem doesn't really describe it. Gmail simply wont load anymore.

When it restarted all the tabs worked, but gmail wouldn't load. It started to go to the login page, then to the actual login sequence then back and forth, back and forth, so fast that nothing ever happens on the screen other than the URL flashing back and forth.

I have deleted and reinstalled FF. I deleted the specific cache files, then the entire cache. deleted specific and then the entire history. I changed my password.

This is an exclusive problem since gmail is working in safari, camino, and on my PC laptop in firefox.

Any suggestions at all would be great.

installed Firefox 3.5 yesterday or the day before and today I have problems opening and viewing e-mail on both Yahoo Mail and G-Mail. G-Mail provided a fix by going to an https:// site.

Just FYI. Safari has a lot of plugins available in some freeware called "Glims".

There is also Safari Adblock in freeware which is excellent.

If you want to customize the skin there is "Safaricon".

A few other plugins are available here:

I just mention it, because I HATE Firefox. I find it to be resource heavy and slower than other browsers.

I managed to find a way around it that wasn't posted, but it took a while.

And I know what you're saying about system drain and speed difference. that was the first thing I noticed. I switched to safari when I couldn't get it to work, and the difference was crazy. I noticed a similar difference on my work PC when I switched to Chrome from Firefox.

And how people use a piece of *beep* like explorer, I have no idea.
