Are schools (hagwons) required by law to give their teachers two weeks vacation for a one year contract, or is it merely customary? |

Hagwons, and all places of employment for that matter, are required by law to give you 15 days of paid leave each year. This does not include weekends or public holidays.
Many hagwons are still, only giving 10 days paid vaction, not including weekends or public holidays, even though the law changed over a year and half ago from 10 to 15 days paid vacation. |

My understanding is that very small schools (<10 employees) only have to give 10 days, but that everyone else must give 15 days. Check out the regulations here:

It would be a good idea to save this, since links to government sites never seem to last that long (many of the older, government links on this website don't work). |
