Yeah yeah I'm sure some of you will point out some obvious differences, but if you've been around and seen many people, you begin to wonder...
I'm thinking specifically about the South African athlete (Caster Semenya, the 800m World Champion) embroiled in a gender debacle. Thing is, I've lived in a female-only Korean dormitory and on several occasions I wondered why security had allowed "males" inside the building. Those girls had more testosterone than 70% of Korean males, but that doesn't make them any less female right?
If Semenya is indeed a female, think of the humiliation she will have to endure in the future (she's just a girl of eighteen). Just thought I'd add my two cents. |

I'm very sorry Caster Semenya.... but i just couldn't have intimate relations with you. I just couldn't....
My mother always told me never to sleep with women who could beat the crap out of me.... and I have generally followed her rule. Generally.
Somehow i just couldn't imagine her buying feminine hygeine products in bright pretty colours.... |

Yeah, apparently she's gotten pretty used to being mistaken for a boy. This hasn't been the first time.
Actually, back here at home, I was having double take with two different people on seperate occaisions. The only way could really verify what gender they were (without taking off their clothes or looking for an adam's apple) was by their voices. Even if a guy tries to disguise it to sounds more feminine, I always find that's the one thing you can tell off the bat. |

Subway line 1 south of Suwon, I was on the subway, saw a new woman. Hairy knuckles, deep voice, big adams apple, big proportions in all the wrong places... I couldn't help but watch, much to the chagrin of my korean friend, but hey, you don't see a Korean post-op every day, right? |

Well now, hold on there! I wasn't staring per s...
She was embarrassed that I kept smiling and looking at the tranny (I thought it was really funny) while everyone else in the train showed a modicum of decency and averted their eyes. It wasn't that I, a foreigner, was staring at a Korean, just that by what I was doing, it was likely to draw the attention of our new female friend or the other passengers, and she didn't like that idea. |

For some reason in Asia I often get mistaken for male. Granted I've got a square jaw, think Demi Moore, and short hair. Coupled with the fact I don't wear much jewelry and almost no makeup doesn't help. I"m a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl but common......I've got a 36 D chest and an hourglass figure . How can you miss that????????? |

I had been neutral during my whole high school time.
Which was: short hair (very short and coarse), uniform ( in my school , there was no differnce between girls and boys uniform), facial hair (damn, I ate too much hormone-injected chicken I guess).
The Sounth African athelete looks very masculine, in history there were several FEMALE athletes who later found to be male (hermaphroditism), they had some genetic disease because of which people couldnt tell their sex when they were born, thus would take them as girls. |

lol sorry, i usually post on a SF (street fighter) website...
translation:
I was at Isu Theme Park (an arcade near Isu Station) and this "woman" came up to the Street Fighter 4 machine while I was playing and I noticed she had huge hands, hair legs and feet almost as big as mine (size 12 US). "She" proceeded to beat the hell out of me using Ryu (a character in the game), however after "she" did another one of my friends, a slightly homophobic Army guy, proceeded to almost perfect (win without getting hit at all) "her" in the game, even going so far as to execute an in-game taunt before ultimately claiming victory with a super combo finish.
GGPO is what you say to someone that lost, GGPO = "good game, peace out" |

The first time I ever had a run-in with someone that ambiguous was on a high school ski trip. I sat beside...him. Someone wanted to ask...him...a question, and I said that I didn't think "she" could be of assistance. He heard and turned around and politely corrected me. I'm guessing it wasn't the first time. Long-haired white boy. He wasn't particularly pretty, but not an ugly girl either. Oh well.
I love beautiful men, though, so Asia's all good. |
