Hi,
I will have about three weeks vacation during the winter. And I hope to spend no more than 1500 dollars for about 2-3 weeks in either India, Sri Lanka, Nepal or Thailand and this includes the plane ticket. I plan to fly out of Seoul if that is the cheapest option. Which country do you think it is possible to do so? Where can I buy cheap tickets for any of these countries? And is the winter a good time to visit any of these countries? I hope to do some mediation stuff, visit and explore the cities, interact with the locals, and maybe do some hiking and other adventorous things. Lastly, do you think Thailand would be cheaper than any of these options? Thanks for your time and help.

The cheapest flight I found to India was about 750000won, and that's what these days, $600? It also wasn't terribly convenient, and I ended up with one into Nepal and out of India for about 870000. Obviously India's pretty cheap when you get there, but that eats up half your budget just for airfare so you won't be able to afford many fun extras, like meditation retreats if that's your thing. I don't think there's anywhere better than Nepal for hiking, but a) you'll probably have to spend more of your budget on some gear, depending on what you're doing, and b) depending on when your vacation window is it might be too early in the year (ie probably don't go in January, but the later in February you can do it, the better).
