|
|
I'm moving to the Itaewon area this weekend (near Hyatt Hotel).
Where am I required to report my address change? As far as I can tell, it's these three places:
1. Yongsan-gu Office, which is not far from Samgakji Station, if I remember correctly.
2. Immigration. Do I have to trek out to Omokyo with my ARC and passport?
3. The local tax office (National Tax Service). I can't find this online. Anyone know where it is?
Thanks. |

I'm an E-2. So are you saying that immigration is the only place that I have to go?
I've lived in Seoul for 6 years, if that has anything to do with it. About 4 years in my current location, south of the river. |

Gu-office or immigration. Either works. The E2 advice above is faulty. |

I have a reference, here(click on foreign sojourn and obligatory declarations found on the left). I'm not saying you are wrong, and I could very well have out of date or wrong information, but I'd like a citation if you have it. |

Your information isnt incorrect, its just incomplete. E2 holders can also register a change of address at their local gu-office (or in smaller towns at city hall) & its all same-same. They write your new address on your ARC & it goes into the data bank. Go with whatever's most convenient. No worries.
Does need to be done though. |

Thanks, both of you.
My girlfriend (Korean) called Immigration yesterday. They said that I need to visit the Gu office only, within 14 days of the move. That's good news.
I would still like to know where the tax office is, though. Anyone know? |
