Have you heard about this kid? What would you do if you were her?
DALLASTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A teenage girl found a 20-pound brick of marijuana while cleaning up a beach recently.
Bree Thornton, 15, a student at Dallastown Area High School, was picking up bottles, plastic and other garbage while visiting family in Hillsboro Beach, Fla., last week because a teacher had asked her students to volunteer for an hour, write about it and present an oral report. She was picking up trash with two cousins when she found the package the size of a shoebox.
Thornton and her cousins went back to their grandparents' beach house, where they showed the package to her aunt and uncle. They didn't recognize the contents, but decided to take it to the police station, where tests determined it was marijuana.
"I couldn't believe it," Thornton said. "I didn't think this kind of thing would happen during a volunteer project."
Health teacher Pat McKinney was shocked Wednesday when her student arrived with a picture of herself and her two cousins with Hillsboro Beach Police Chief John Ballard and the marijuana. She said she was proud of her student.
"There were no adults around. She didn't have to turn the package into police, but she did," McKinney said. "We had a class where we learned about integrity, and she showed it." |

They needed to test it? Not smoke it? Man some people sure have their priorities all messed up. This is one great find that was squandered...such a sad sad story. |

testing...is that what they call it nowadays?
Even though I happier now, I do sometimes feel sentimental about hanging with my hippie friends, camping, listening to folk music, and getting a little (ahem) inspired. I wrote all sorts of bad poetry though...and those kids did the right thing if they prevented someone from writing anything close to what I wrote! |

Not a huge expert on marijuana or anything, but I find it hard to believe that 20 lbs. of marijuana would fit in a shoe box

That's straight brick. Probably nasty unkempt swag. Great to flip for better stuff and whole lot of spending money. I mean, that's what people who do that stuff say, I guess. |

BS. 20 pounds of herb would be about the size of a couple trash bags full. Maybe one trash bag if condensed. |

Like another poster said, that was straight up pressed brick schwag-weed. I've seen stuff so packed that once you start breaking it up, it keeps coming and coming. They didn't find some nice frosty BC buds, they got some Mexi-crap. |

20 pound brick is possible, then again the cops probably added a few pounds to the weight to make it news worthy, wouldnt really be news worthy if she found a pound..
if it was me.. back when I was 15.. you know me and boys would of been watching that erb dry and all waiting to blaze up.... |

Even a 20 pound brick would be much larger. That stuff would have had to have been bricked as dense as solid iron to get that kind of density. Impossible.
Maybe it is 2 pounds and not 20? Even for 2 pounds, thats really dense. 20, absolutely impossible.
Mmmmm I want some. |

Speaking as one who has regular "traffic" with this sort of thing, there is no GD way you are going to get twenty pounds of weed into a shoebox, even if it is the schwaggiest press in all of Tijuana. Hashish? Maybe. |

Bunch of gangbangers or dealers gonna go after her family.
I'm pretty sure someone or some people are very pissed about her finding their weeds.
Her family might need police protection for long time. |
