Seems like Footprints is going to get a bad rap while people are trying to cling on to a job. |

It's an inevitable result of what SMOE did - for recruiters in general - already a group not terribly well thought of (and often for good reason).
By the way, does anybody know where Ben is actually located? Korea or North America? (I'm wondering what his working hours are compared to my time...) |

My experience with Footprints was positive until I had passed the approval stage and was passed over to the owner Ben. Prior to this, my questions were answered and I was treated very respectfully. Since Ben has come into the equation, my questions are completely ignored and he doesn't even bother to answer my emails, even if I send a few follow ups. I initially chose Footprints as I heard they work with you to find the job that is right for you. This has not been my experience at all. They seem more interested in you as a convenience to them, rather than as a person with specific needs. I don't think they are horrible but I am very disappointed with them. I have made the decision not to work with them due to Ben's inability to demonstrate common courtesy to his clients. If I am being ignored now while I am still on my home soil with very simple questions, I shudder to think what the response would be while abroad and experiencing difficulties. BTW: I get absolutely no enjoyment from dissing them. I finally thought I had found a company I could trust but sadly in my experience this has not been the case. |

When did this change occur?
Given what just happened with SMOE, I think it is likely the recruiters who do a lot of business with SMOE are extremely busy trying to deal with those among their clients who were dropped.
If this change just occurred for you, I'd have to wait a couple of weeks before I could clear define it. |

I don't recomend Korvia. They found out, through the medicial exam, that I have diabetes and then dropped my application citing I have a disease that would prevent me from working. |

Footprints placed me in my last 2 PS jobs. No problems, although sometimes they weren't quick replying to emails (I didn't expect that anyway, as it's a very large operation).
I can recommend them. |

I think three weeks and still no reply is a bit excessive for an size of an organization. I am glad your experience has been positive but I think they need to fine tune their client services. Remember: we are the ones bringing in their wages. It seems the schools are viewed as more important as they are the ones paying the wages to Footprints, but without us this would not be possible. |

Hi there,
This is Will at Footprints. We commit to getting back to everyone within three business days of their application and email.
We have had an issue with response emails being sent to Spam Folders and Junk mail, which is something that we're trying to work on, but for the time being can only be solved by the applicant's email settings.
Please contact [email protected] and write "att: Will" in the subject line. I would like to see where this breakdown has occurred, if it was a complete error on our part, or an instance of the situation I described above, or something else. 3 weeks with no response is unacceptable, and you're correct, poor customer service.

I ended up having to contact Footprints I waited so long on a response (and I can guarantee that no email went to my junk inbox). |

I'm almost certain that he's located in North America. (Pacific Standard Time) |

Thanks.
I got an email from him and it showed a Vancouver address. They have an office in Korea too. I was just wondering which one I was dealing with as the search goes on and when I have any time-sensitive questions.
I'd also say again, a few weeks before the big deadlines for the start of a new public school semester, especially in the summer, I'd expect these recruiters are swamped with all kinds of last minute changes by clients and public school boards. It sucks if you're a client fretting at the last minute as well, but it is a fairly natural thing.
And this year, with SMOE doing what it did, I'd expect the headaches of the few weeks before and few weeks after to be an even bigger pain in the neck.
I'd like to get all email answered quickly.
But, if delays of less than - say - a week really get under my skin, then I would have a hell of a time making through the ESL industry in Korea..
On of the most used English words by Koreans is "endure". If you have never been to Korea before but are going soon --- you'll end up understanding why.... |
