Today my in laws took me to Bulguksa Temple in Gwangju. I was pretty excited and was snapping pictures left and right. I love temples, and these ones included mostly originals, which was really impressive. At one point after we walked up that first big flight of stairs past the main temple entrance, a monk walked by. I put my corndog and bottle of water down so I could snap a picture of him. As I pointed the camera toward him, he seemed reluctant at first. Then my wife's aunt asked him in Korean and he obliged and bowed as I took a picture.
I told him thank you and then he started looking at me kind of funny as I grabbed my corndog and water. He started speaking Korean in a calm but also kind of excited manner to my in laws while staring at me. Kind of spooked me at first a little. I feel kind of funny writing this, but my aunt got really excited and told me he said I was an early Buddha reincarnated from well over a thousand years ago. I have to admit, I was like okay okay. Then he commented on my energy....or that's what my aunt translated, Her English is so so.
Well, after a few minutes of conversing with my aunt and staring at me, he commented on my positive energy ring that i bought off Ebay. I have to admit, I was pretty damn excited because everyone I know has given me hell about that thing being fake. My aunt told me he said don't lose it because it has a lot of energy. That freakin made my day right there because I spent a lot of money on that thing. Anyways, we left to go to a museum shortly later and my aunt has been calling everyone she knows about this because she is a devout Buddhist. Pretty cool day, I want to go back. |

I swear that the moment I saw the title, I thought that you would be the author! I let you decide what that means... if anything. Carry on, Buddha! |

Somehow I can't see a reincarnated Buddha spending his last remaining dollars on Juicy Girls. Maybe you are a reincarnated David Carradine? |

The monk tells this story to 1000 people a week and the donations for the temple get bigger. I can't believe I just responded to this guys thread. Feeding the troll now. |

Bulguksa is not in Gwangju and walking around a temple eating a corndog is pretty rude. |

OMG! At first, I was wondering how you were going to top UFOs and Bigfoot. Then you came back with being married/engaged/significant other to a Korean mafia princess who's on the run from the law. Now this week alone you've brought up astral projection, out of body experiences, positive energy rings, and being the Buddha.
How the heck are you ever going to top this? |

My bad, I misspelled the city. Gyeongju. They both sound the same.
Hey man, they sell corn dogs right outside the temples, what am I supposed to do? The monk didn't seem to mind. My in laws are making me get fatter and fatter each day with all the food they buy me.
I wonder since I was labeled this by a monk, if I could become a Korean monk in the future sometime? I have always thought about that before....a monk in Asia somewhere. It would be a tough life, though. |

Simplest explanation: The monk sells energy rings on eBay. |

I pretty sure the monks at that temple have good intentions. They devote their lives to that stuff. |
