Professional development and further schooling has completely lost my interest too. Taking classes at the University is a lot of fun, but i'm sick of going into major debt over it only to face a crappy job market and be an employee anyway. And the countless hours of studying, going to classes in the morning, nights with little sleep, not having enough free time to work a real job, i'm over it.
I'm all about finding ways to hustle up money these days. I can't beleve I even went through with my B.A. honestly, it's questionable whether it was even worth it. I certainly learn a lot more when i'm not a student. |
So other than "hustling up money", what do you pursue in life to give yourself direction? This thread wasn't supposed to just be about school. |
Hobbies. I am an artist, a natural bodybuilder, I dabble as a musician, I travel, write poetry, try to meet people and hang out with them, camping trips, long distance bicycle rides, learning how to be a tattoo artist, I read lots of books and educate myself through books and internet articles.
It's all about finding your own direction, instead of having somebody ele, like a school tell you what to focus your attention on. Just living the simple life and being happy with what I have.
It seems like a lot of people these days are in a sort of ADHD frenzy where they can't just chill and have to constantly be occupied. I'm not like that, I can just sit by the beach with a book and a drink and make that my universe. I can make a day out of hiking a mountain and be happy. I can just surf the internet for a while and amuse myself. It's all about allowing yourself to be satisifed with whatever you are doing, no matter what it is. |
