What Osangrl is talking about probably is the same as what she uses at home. But she probably doesn't use real maple syrup at home either. As I recall it's fairly pricy back in Canada too.

There are lots of maple trees in Korea, though most seem to be the Japanese maple- the one with leaves that look like pot.

I don't think most Koreans like syrup. I made French/Freedom toast for a friend and he said it was too sweet.

Yeah, it's genuine Ottogi brand 100% pure maple syrup in a yellow envelope on the shelf of your local convenience store for W2500. The lumberjacks in the isolated logging camps in the maple forests of Kangwon-do have a long tradition of making some of the finest maple syrup in the world. No, it's just like Aunt Jemima. Real enough for me.

Has anyone tried making anything else out of that pancake mix? Someone told me it is like Bisquik and can be used for biscuits and such, but I've never tried. Anyone know?
