Does anyone know a decent dentist in Daegu where i can go to get my teeth cleaned (de-scaled) or possibly even whitened? Preferably somewhere downtown where I can just walk in off the street and make an appointment in English (or broken Korean).

Also how much is it usually for de-scaling or whitening over here?

Cheers

I go to a dentist by Samdeok Fire Station... it's on the 3rd floor above Buy The Way (on the corner by the fire station).

He speaks pretty good English, and it's very easy to walk in and make an appointment (they might even take you that day, that's what happened to my husband). It's 60,000 for de-scaling, not sure about whitening.

it's 50000 for teeth cleaning.

500000~700000 for whitening. I have been told that Korean dentists do not do the peroxide treatment they do in North America. Instead they do the fluoride treatment for 2 months or so which is not as effective but your teeth will look like a natural teeth white as opposed to what you see actors on reality television have. I've been told that fluoride treatment only lasts maybe 2 yrs and you risk teeth sensitivity.

I'm not sure about the pros and cons of peroxide treatment, maybe someone enlighten us.

I found information on this board about the dentist I now use.

Dr Lee at exit 12 of Banwoldang Station studied in New York and his English is good. Right by the station is the KEB building and he's on the 7th Floor.

A friend wanted teeth whitening and he offers 2 different types of treatment, each one costing 450 000 Won. He'll discuss the ins and outs with you.

When I call his office and the receptionist hears its a foreigner she takes the phone to him to talk. Or you could just walk in to make the appointment.
