any 1 know of the laws on the aquatic life around jeju?

is it legal to go diving and collect samples of say fish or soft corals?

Absolutely not.

Koreans do it all the time, but you will be in deep crap if you get caught. If you're lucky, the maritime cops will catch you. If you are unlucky, the local fishermen will catch you.

I worked as a pro diver in Jeju for a year.

What about spearfishing (for food, obviously)? Anywhere that is okay around Jeju?

Illegal. It is done, but it is illegal. Once again, if you are spotted, you can be in a lot of trouble.

No wildlife and nature conservation laws in Korea. No fishing licenses are necessary nor does anyone care what you do outdoors. You could dump tons of anything and no one seems to care. ]

Only reason why anyone would stop you from doing anything is if it infringes on their short term economic interests.
