I've been watching "Sad Love Story" with my wife and really enjoy it. You can find the entire series on mininova:

Can anyone recommend some good TV dramas in Korean?

1. Coffee Prince -slice of life drama about immature late twenty/early thirty-year olds trying to run a coffee shop; One of them is a girl rather convincingly posing as a boy. The only K drama I've seen dealing with "presumed" homosexuality and frank sexual talk. Main actor is also a strong "face" actor.

2. My Name is Kim Sam Soon - Bridget Jones a la Korean style
A bit painful to watch if you are getting too close to "on the shelf."
Male leads are particularly annoying.
Main actress is hysterical - official subs are even more hysterically bad.

3. Palace - Cinderella story, with cool costumes and an annoyingly catchy sound track.

Pretty to look at. Older support cast members particularly shine, esp. grandma.

4. Vineyard Man - The first episode is a little lame, but after that things pick up. Spoiled brat city girl gets banished to her Great Uncle's vineyard. Love-hate relationship develops with main farmhand. Madness ensues.

5. Tamra Island (new and ongoing) - Korea's first attempt at an international romance on tv. Main actor is French blond man with a bad "English" accent (his Japanese sidekick speaks English more clearly!).

Very silly, but strangely compelling period drama taking place on Jeju-do.

6. Boys Before Flowers - hot hot hot! (in Korea and Asia). Plot is a bit uneven, but doesn't drag at least. Very intense and cruel bullying scenes.
Eye candy galore (if K men are your thing) and decent acting. Main female lead pulls off otherwise stupid lines; scriptwriter needs to be shot.
Overall, the drama somehow "works" in spite of plot holes big enough to drive a bongo truck through.

Most evil and cruel villainess ever.

#1,3,and 4 star the same actress (Yoon Eun Jae) but she is very flexible and good in her acting skills - think Aubrey Hepburn mixed with Kathrine Hepburn. She has dead perfect comic timing and can pull everything off.

My Girl (2006) - starring Lee Da Hae. One of the best Cinderella stories ever because of her performance.

Fantasy Couple (Couple or Trouble) - with Han Ye Seul. Pretty funny. Based on "Overboard" (1980s movie with Goldie Hawn)

Que Sera Sera - dark adult drama with good soundtrack.
