Yeah, even though the Metric system was in place since before I was born, I still use things like feet and inches for height, and pounds for weight...most people do. Though Metric has taken over in the case of Kilometres etc.

I wish that Korea had Tim Horton's instead of Dunkin Donuts on every corner ...

If there is a God, why do we have dandruff? Seems like a perverse god to me.

1/4 of Canada is owned by the US. I think some American corporation actually owns the rights to my soul.

Stupid question

Why the fu@k are there so many bloody Koreans? After the war they were hanging on by a thread. The few that remained after the carpet bombing were all starving. The lucky ones got to eat SPAM while the poor ate their dogs and cleaned out the Seoul Zoo. How the hell did Korea become one of the world's most densely populated countries in 50 years? An how the hell are there so many Koreans around the world? Go just about anywhere and you'll find at least one Korean living there.

Why is sex the greatest thing on earth but VD the most disgusting?
Why is cocain so wicked but a horrible horrible thing to put in your body?
Seems like god's just f@$kin with us.

It's like he/she's handin out candy then smackin you on the head when you grab some....then sayin, "Come on, grab some more, I won't hit you again!"

My hand reaches out for some more.....
Smack.... "Dumbass....you never learn."

For whatever it is worth, I just read that there is no credible evidence that anyone of any real importance proposed that Americans beofre, during or after the Revolutionary War stop speaking English. There wasn't any discussion in the papers or the debating clubs. In fact, there wasn't even any discussion of declaring an official language of any sorts and there still isn't any official language. The book said the idea that German was actually considered is just a myth.

Why do people like anything? Who knows? Taste is one of the great mysteries of the world. Maybe we learn it when we are young. Maybe it is genetic. Maybe it is all "mutation." But what we do know is that people do become accustomed to things and habbits are hard to break. So, once things become established, it can be hard to break or change.

Like the thread idea though...

Why are so many things that taste good and/or fun bad for you and so many things that are good for you taste bad and/or borring? That's what I would like to know...

Or

Why do we generally paint houses white? Sure there are other colors but they are not really proper, are they?

Yes, you're right. I just looked it up, and it is in fact urban legend. Apparently Germans were historically very quick to change to English in America. My bad. Embarassed The site also said that JFK was in fact grammatically correct to say "Ich bin ein Berliner." The story that he was calling himself a jelly donut is also apparently incorrect.

So far as I do know, though, houses have traditionally been painted white and barns red because those have been the cheapest pigments. My friend who is an airplane mechanic says that airplanes are usually white because that is the cheapest and lightest paint, and over the space of a jet all that weight adds up.

My stupid question: when your watch battery goes dead, why do you still keep checking your watch all day?
Why do we have the word 'unthaw'? Doesn't it mean we will re-freeze something?

Ken:>
