Craving a curry? I think the most delicious Indian food is at Taj Palace in Itaewon. The curries are creamy and delicious (and spicy if you ask for them that way) and the nan bread is light crispy and just melts in your mouth.

To find this place, just get out of exit 3 at Itaewon station, pass the Starbucks and turn right at the corner (clothing store). Walk up the hill about 1 1/2 blocks and you'll find the best kept secret in Seoul.

You can't eat kimchichigae everyday, can you?

There is something about the subversive Muslim literature that says all Westerners are wife swappers, alcoholics who abuse their families, and infidels that turned me off to the place. There is a rack of literature on the left hand side as you walk in the door, and there was a booklet there on why Muslims don't eat pork. Interesting read, most of it, but then it had all this BS demonizing the West. No thanks. I'll stick to the other dozen or so that are around.

Dongdaemun had/has a few good Indian/Nepali joints. Next to Dongmyo station (line 6) there was a good one, if I recall correctly.

You do recall correctly. Dongmyo, Exit 5 = Namaste.

That place is average at best. I have eaten there with friends a few times and there is no heat at all in their curries.

What kind of curries do they serve exactly? Things with generic names like "Chicken Curry" and "Lamb Curry" are almost always really bad interpretations of Indian food.

Take a look at the menu. Other places have comparable prices.

The people that run Taj Palace are from Kashmir, India. Really nice people that give attentive service. The food is delicious, has the original names and is slow cooked. the way quality Indian food is made. Everything is made to order prepared as mild or spicy as you want it. Their nan bread is light and crispy melt in your mouth. Do yourself a favor and try them out.
