I'm just wondering what size photo I need for my E2 visa application. I'm pretty sure I just used ID-size ones the last time I applied for a visa. I'm thinking it doesn't matter, but they just say passport size (which are bigger). These photos (I think you need two) aren't used for anything but to keep your photos on file if my memory serves me correctly. Don't you need to give them another photo when applying for your alien card?

Please advise because I can't remember at the moment. If I could just use those photos I had taken at the consulate in Japan (which are bigger than the ID and passport ones), I'd just go with those. Think I only have on ID-sized one left.

Thanks in advance,

Ya, those should be fine. The sent back my old passport when I renewed it with the extra picture stapled to the old one. I just took the staple out and sent it with my E-2 application, holes and all. No problem. I would suggest getting some extra pictures, you seem to need them for everything. I even had to have two for my physical at the hospital. You think they would catch up with the times and have a digital camera there to put in the computer instead of all this hard copy stuff.

I don't think they really care. For the Visa application it's just for their files anyway. For the alien card, they shrink them for your card.

I've noticed that Korean passport photos are quite a bit smaller than Canadian passport photos. I gave them Canadian-sized photos and no one said anything.

I think the only time it matters is when you are applying for a passport. I had to bring Passport Canada's specifications to the photo shop in Korea when I was renewing my passport. I knew the embassy would reject them if I sent them Korean-sized photos.

I use this as a standard for all official photos. It has yet to lead me astray.

The size on the application is smaller than a US passport application. I used a US passport photo last time I got an ARC and they laughed at how big it was and used it.

Oh how I wish I still had my first ARC with my American size passport photo. I took three sets of pictures, because I had absolutely no idea what they wanted them for. I had a few front views, and a few profile shots. They used a profile shot, and my arc picture was filled only with the side of my grinning face.

Mm, yeah. Don't think people really read the OP. This is just for my visa application, not for my passport or alien card.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the info. Don't think it matters what size it is for the application.
