|

Looks like I'm having problems with my new crb because my parents didn't register me at their address in the last electoral role or something.
This means I have to go live back in the UK for 12 months before I can apply for a new one according to the crb website, you have to go back and live at a permanant address for 12 months lol before re-applying...
So looks like Dwaeji might be saying anyeong to Korea and Gonichiwa to Japan...
Do you need the crb for a job in Japan..? anyone know...? I know jobs are scarce there, but I'm pretty smart and articulate and have never been unemployed for less than 2 weeks in my adult (18 yrs old and over) life, so I'll pick something up..
Cheers in advance |

You must be registered somewhere, at some adress in the UK.
I get the CRC by quoting an address I last lived at 18 years ago.
You must have a national insurance numbercard, right?
Give the same adress you used to register for that. |

I needed a criminal record check for Japan (but didn't have to mess around with apostilling) for the countries have lived in for the past few years. I can't remember how many years though, although it is definitely less than 6. |

Just found out from disclosures scotland (the people that do the online basic disclosure for UK citizens) that they now want you to provide scanned or faxed evidence of ID and residency in the UK even for the online aplication...
So I now have to get my Dad to FEDEX a bank statement(46 pounds down the drain, thanks to Korea's absurd laws) so I can scan it and send it to them with a scan of my passport lol...
Anyone know why on earth Immigration in Korea need us to proved a new crb after only having got the last one 9 months ago...? Seeing as I can prove I haven't left Korea in that time, it's not as if I've had the chance to go home, do something naughty and then be convicted of it lol...
Why the new crb every 6 months...? What is the rational behind it?
Why have criminal checks that are only deemed valid for 6 months, and having to get one every time you apply for a job, even if you've been in korea for the whole time...... |

I refused point blank.
Considering that I had not left Korea in that time nor changed jobs..it seems ridiculous in the extreme.
Remember, immigration does't require a fresh CRC every year: its down to some loon in your local education board trying to make a name for himself by attacking foreigners. |

I got the instructors visa for Japan about a year ago....no CRC was needed, just a copy of the degree (like Korea back in the day)...when I mentioned to my boss that CRCs are needed in Korea thesedays he said that immigraton do an inhouse check on what you've been up to inside Japan but don't ask for anything from outside of Japan.
Worth mentioning that I am doing the public school gig, where (in theory at least) there's a Japanese teacher in the classroom at all times....I assume it might be different if you were in a Japanese hagwon (juku) where you could be unsupervised, however foreigners doing those jobs are few and far between. |
