What is the cheapest option for someone who takes the subway at least twice daily? Is there a Seoul "Metro Pass" available as a monthly pass? Apparently there is because every time I chart a route on the Seoul Metro website map at the bottom it says "Metropass 39600" so I'm guessing this Pass is 39600 Won.

Also, is there a specific subway pass? I've heard that you can buy a "60 ride pass" for discounted fares just for the subway.

Or is T-money the best option for someone taking the subway twice daily during the weekdays?

Thoughts anyone?

Not sure what the deal is now. When I looked at it some time ago, the 60 ride pass was best if you were sticking only to the subway. However, if you are using/transferring to buses as well, T-money seemed to be the way to go. Call 1330.

I think there is. One of my coteacher uses this pass. He would only swipe on to get on the bus but he wouldn't swipe out. I asked him why and he told me it was a special pass...then he tried telling me about it. His English isn't great...so I gave up and just said "ok, nevermind"

I heard the 60 pass thing or the metro pass is strictly for commuting only. That is from the same location and back everyday. If you are travelling all around I think T-money is the way to go.

kalbi's right. Call 1330. They're great. If they don't know, they'll do some research and call you back (in my case about 2 hours later). Then post what they tell you on here so every knows. I suspect that if it's more economical there will be a lot of people interested in a 60-ride pass.

Will do. I think T-money would be best considering I want to travel all around on the weekends, but I'll call and see what they say.
