Check out today's Korean Times. There's an article by some English Teacher berating Dave's ESL. Burn him, he's a witch, he's a witch !

| I got my BA in journalism and must say that this article is the worst I've seen in a long time. He really really screwed the intro up. Where's the readers attention? There's nothing catchy about anything in this article. Let alone he's full of*beep*. |

But the real problem was that these newbies weren't fired til after they'd bought airplane tickets. And too late to refund them. That's why people are livid. No one cares that they lost their job; they care because they wasted $1500 during a depression. Am I wrong?

Wow if you discuss anything about your jobs negative aspects you have a 'bored mind'? It's also such a conscious effort to 'congregate' online, it really doesn't just involve clicking one button on my browser. Let alone the fact that there is no congregation because posts are replied to over days and weeks... and not just instantaneously.
I also love how he constantly refers to some 'they'. Who are they? Are they all teachers? Are they all in Korea? Are they all North Americans? All Dave's ESL readers? All Dave's ESL posters? All college graduates? All middle aged F series visa holders? All 'ingrates'?
The article really just doesn't justify a response other than that he comes across as an extremely bitter man who only values his own world view on a situation. It's pretty much troll bait but when it's published by a national newspaper it is hard to ignore.
He argues no real rational case, a lot of flames with no real justification. That some people get given rice cakes while they read a book means that whoever else complains about their own, totally different situation means they are ungrateful leeches and need the sack is a ridiculous notion. His whole article is filled with fallacies designed to stir emotion and anger. The superiority that he feels is something that is truly disturbing. |

They were also canned after quitting their jobs back home. The reason for quitting those jobs was because they were promised a job here. They were simply lied to. |

That article is so offensive and ridiculous ... is he taking about all ESL teachers in Korea? How can you lump everyone together like that?
And as for drinking beer in my free apartment ... I don't even like beer!!
