I'm in Korea doing research and my husband is here with me. We're both studying Korean for 6 months in Seoul and will then be moving to Jeonju. My husband is looking for a job in a public school in the Jeonju area for March and has started applying for jobs. He sent an e-mail to Work and Play recruiting, which I've heard good things about from time to time, and was disappointed to simply get a form e-mail reply to his e-mailing a resume and photo. They said they're accepting applications in September and interviewing in October for positions starting in March (which surprised me) but they stated that pay was only 1.8 (!) with a housing allowance of 300,000 for someone with a BA. (My husband has a BA and a little teaching experience). I don't know how they'll get any applicants for that kind of pay with this exchange rate. He was also really hoping that someone would actually bother to read his e-mail and reply, not tell him to look at the website he's already looked at.

Can anyone recommend reputable (and even relatively personable!) recruiters for the Jeonju area? I feel like he should be able to get something better than that (at least 2.2 million and the school paying for the housing deposit) for March.

Thanks!

Bump

Reputable recruiters nation-wide would be fine too. I just think 1.8 million sounds ridiculous (unless one was on the TALK program or something), don't you agree?
