I'm trying to choose between two schools, and would appreciate input.
Of course there's no magical correct answer, but let me know what you'd choose and why (salaries and student levels are the same):

"에이"is an established branch of a well known franchise.
I'd have to tow the line when it comes to teaching style.
A teacher was fired recently due to student complaints.
I didn't get to talk to the manager, nor ask staff any questions.
26.25 teaching hours max a week.
4 native teachers in total.


"비" is a small part of a cram school, and about to overhaul its English curriculum.
It has most likely lost some students and teachers recently.
I'd have a lot of control over how I'd teach.
The manager seems very friendly, if somewhat lost.
30 teaching hours max a week.
1 native teacher in total.

Go for the smaller school. I posted something in another thread about the worst job I've had in 7 years was at a hogwan with other foreign teachers.
What's 4 more hours a week? Especially if you have more freedom to teach, that means more lessons disguised as games. If the pay is the same take the smaller school.

OR

Go to the bigger school and have a looksee for yourself and take the other teachers out for drinks and booze them up and get the lowdown on the school.

Thanks, roadwork. I was leaning towards going with the smaller school. In the past I've been happier working at places with more freedom and fewer co-workers. (Hell is other people).

Plus, the friendly first impression of the manager is worth a lot to me. My first school had a serpent of a manager, who made no attempt to hide her attitude from the start, and from then on neither did she see fit to change it.
