|
|
Looking to buy a used laptop. Anyone looking to sell. Will come to location to pick up if in Seoul.
The laptop I currently have is an old Acer travelmate 4230 which has the problem media test failure, check cable operating system not found. I've taken it to the Technomart near Gangbyeon Station to get repaired but the people there are hopeless, no one knows how to fix it. I've heard its pretty simple but I have no clue with technology so if anyone can fix it I'll pay ya. |

I am currently selling a lap top. It's a DELL and pretty good. Although its old for a computer, I took good care of it. I will wipe the hard drive clean and re-install windows.

If I were you, the first thing I'd do (unless you've tried already) would be to Google your problem (media test failure, check cable operating system not found) and maybe even add spcific about your laptop so make the search better, and see if anyone can provide a solution to your problem.
Whenever you encouter a problem, just Google the message and you're likely to find answers. It may take a while, but you've got good chances to solve your problem that way. Anyway, it's always worked for me... so far! |

CMR, I tried that, the most common reason given is that incorrect setting in BIOS or a bad harddrive. I played around the BIOS, nothing. It may also be because of a loose wire inside, but I have no tools to open it up and I normally don't really deal with things like this back home, just get my brother or my boys to sort it out.
I'm thinking it's a hard drive problem. Before this occured the laptop would shut itself off after 2 hours use or even less say 1/2 an hour. It was an overheating problem but this can't be normal, my friends would leave there laptops on 24/7 no problems. |

OP, where do you live? if you're willing to meet up in Seoul (i'm in gangnam), I could take a look at it no problem. i wouldn't charge you a penny or a won. i know how frustrating it can be when your PC poops out on you. two weeks ago my own laptop decided to take a coffee bath. |

Hi Kiwi, I live in Gangdong Gu, Seoul so not to far from Gangnam. I can't PM yet. If you don't mind PM me your contact info and we'll see about getting in touch and you can have a look at my laptop. |

I have a broken kohjinsha netbook that you can have for free. It's motherboard has water damage and when i took it A/S they said it would cost 300,000 won to replace it. |

If you come to Anyang, I can give you an old Toshiba PIII 1000 notebook... The only thing it's missing is a hard drive. That said, a new 60gig hdd isn't all that expensive.
Throw winXP on there and it's fast enough for all the basic stuff. |

I have an old HP Pavillion zv5000.
It has the generic HP power supply fault.
It won't accept the power through the DC jack.
Replacing the jack can be expensive and is not worth it on such a 2003 laptop. It would work if you could find a docking station or the XC1000 All-In-One media cable at a decent price.
I have a new laptop and was given an old Korean laptop, which the wife uses for shopping.
So this old laptop needs recycling, but may be up to 250,ooo depending on a successful repair, media cable or docking station.
Would ideally suit someone with another HP and cable or docking station. |
