Ok, I worked two full hour yesterday and today my schedule is going to be another exhausting two hours.

All the while the maid, maintenance guys and contruction workers are all around me busting their backs.

I can't even look them in the eye cause I feel like such a sissy.

I normally don't care about such things but I can't help but be reminded of some tough jobs I've had in the past.

How's this one for a doozie of a job: Prudhoe Bay Alaska (oil fields) worked 12 hour days as a laborer during college summers. Some days I dug ditches for the whole day.

I would wake up the next day and literally have to roll out of bed, crawl to the nearest support structure and pull myself to my feet.

I'm starting to think this job is going to ruin me. Meaning that I won't ever be able to handle a tough job again after leaving Korea.

I don't feel bad, i went through college (at my own expense) and got a degree. I don't have to do manual labor anymore.

Enjoy it while you can. Don't fall into the trap of letting boredom fill your days and then complaining that they aren't using you to your full potential,
as I have done.


They really don't want us to be "teachers" (at least in elementry schools),
just language coaches or assistants.

Find useful things to do, prep materials, study Korean or other things that may interest you.

I work for a law firm at 50 bucks an hour. 2 lawyers per class. 30% of my classes are canceled, but I get paid anyway. I do feel guilty, but it's not my fault they cancel - I am available for them...

but yeah, sometimes I think it's so darn easy - money for nothing and the chicks for free!

Easiest job and lifestyle I've had. I rationalise the guilt by venting on Daves about how hard it is to live in Korea. Shame about the money though.
