While the article is quite detailed, it seems that Halperin is mainly trying to peddle his book.

Some of his contentions are plain wrong, e.g. that Debbie Rowe would absolutely contest custody. Or that Jackson was so weak he could not even dance. The video of his rehearsal just two days before he died showed him in full swing, although I do believe that 50 concerts may have seemed overwhelming for him so that he may have actually said that quote.

Maybe soon, MitM.

Jacksons brain united with body

Press Trust Of India
London, August 09, 2009

'King of Pop' Michael Jackson's brain has finally been reunited with his body, prompting speculation that the pop icon will be laid to rest soon.

The Thriller hitmaker who died seven weeks ago after a suspected cardiac arrest, had his brain surgically removed for testing, but the organ has now been replaced in his body.

Morticians at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills, where the pop legend will be laid to rest in an unmarked grave, are now preparing his body for burial, reported Daily Mail online. The burial was not expected to include any formal ceremony and would probably only be attended by two family members.

MICHAEL JACKSON HELD IN DEEP FREEZE

POST STAFF REPORT

August 15, 2009

Michael Jackson is on the rocks.

The body of the late King of Pop is being kept in a freezer at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, a family source told The Post.

Jackson's mother has made frequent visits to the chilled pop star.

The delay in his burial is the result of an ongoing family dispute about where he should rest in peace. Some family members want him to be buried in an unmarked grave.

Brother Jermaine Jackson wants him buried at Neverland Ranch, so that it can be turned into a "Graceland"-like tourist attraction. Other family members object to this because Michael stated after he was cleared of child molestation charges that he never wanted to return to the ranch.

Jackson's brain was finally returned to his body last week. LA County coroner had held onto it to look for clues into his cause of death.

I think he should be buried at Neverland. He didn't have to return there when he was alive, but now, it is the place that is most associated with him.

What was Michael Jackson? A minor rhythm & blues artist who achieved some modest distinction in the early-80s and then plunged into a sad vortex of drugs, plastic surgery and kiddie-love. The sort of name that should have popped up in brief "where are they now?" trivia moments on music channels; the sort of name that should been equal to, say Farah Fawcett's in passing.

OP, you may finally get your wish.

Jackson to be buried on 51st birthday

Michael Jackson will be buried on August 29, the day the King of Pop would have turned 51, his family said in a statement on Tuesday.

The private ceremony -- more than two months after his June 25 death from heart failure -- will take place in Los Angeles and "will be limited to family and close friends" the statement said.

"Michael Jackson will be laid to rest at Holly Terrace in the Grand Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale (California) on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 10:00 am (1700 GMT)."

This is a joke, right? The man had the two greatest selling albums of all time. Fred Astaire called him the greatest dancer ever Exclamation

A man so exceptional in music talent is bound to be exceptional in his private life as well. It comes with the territory.

Not only does he hold the record for best-selling records, but also for the greatest humanitarian contribution of any Hollywood artist.

If I were you I'd stick to arguing fascism.

LOL, minor R & B artist... what about the most famous person in the world when he died? Regardless of what happened after his hits, the music was world-wide famous.

OP, there's been a delay.

Jackson's funeral postponed 5 days

Fri, August 21, 2009
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

LOS ANGELES Michael Jackson wont be laid to rest on what would have been his 51st birthday after all.

A spokesman for the Jackson family says the King of Pops funeral has been postponed until Sept. 3, five days after the singers birthday.

Spokesman Ken Sunshine, in a statement Friday, offered no reason for the delay.

Jacksons family had planned a private daytime service for Aug. 29. The pop superstar will now be interred in The Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn-Glendale at a private evening ceremony.

The cemetery is spread over several hills on land roughly eight miles (13 kilometres) north of downtown Los Angeles. The mausoleum includes a stained-glass replica of Leonardo da Vincis The Last Supper and replicas of Michelangelos statues.

Almost there, OP!

Michael Jackson to be buried amongst the stars

Rob Woollard, Agence France-Presse
Published: Wednesday, September 02, 2009

Two months after his death, Michael Jackson is to buried Thursday in a private sunset ceremony that will see the "King of Pop" laid to rest alongside a galaxy of Hollywood stars.

The tragic pop music icon, whose mysterious June 25 death was ruled a homicide by city officials last week, will be interred in an elaborate mausoleum at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the suburb of Glendale.

Only close family and friends of Jackson will be in attendance for the event, in stark contrast to the star-studded public memorial held at Los Angeles's Staples Center in July attended by 20,000 mourners.

Several streets surrounding the entrance to the cemetery in Glendale will be closed in an effort to keep fans at bay, police said.

Jackson is to be interred at a 7:00 p.m. ceremony inside the cemetery's massive Great Mausoleum, an elaborate neo-classical building inspired by Genoa's famous Campo Santo.

Jackson's gold-plated casket is to be placed in a private section of the mausoleum that is also home to the final resting places of famous names from Hollywood's golden age such as Clark Gable, Jean Harlow and Carole Lombard.

Forest Lawn, which opened in 1906, is also home to exact replicas of some of Michelangelo's greatest works, including David, La Pieta and Moses.

The cemetery also boasts a stunning recreation of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper in stained glass.

Other entertainment icons buried at Forest Lawn include Humphrey Bogart, Lon Chaney, Nat King Cole, Walt Disney, Errol Flynn and Jimmy Stewart.

Hey, don't give away the act you planned to perform with Jacko in London.

Yes, the drug addict has-been pop star and media ho has finally been lowered into the ground.

And, now, it's back to the circus at 1600 Pennsylvannia Avenue.

I hear it may not be his final resting place.

Some family members are still trying to pursue the whole Neverland-cum-Graceland thing.

But, OP, rest assured that we will definitely let you know. Arrow

Michael Jackson should be reburied at Neverland says brother Jermaine

By Mirror.co.uk 10/09/2009

Jermaine Jackson said today that he wants his brother, Michael, to be reburied at Neverland Ranch.

Jackson told German broadcaster ZDF he was "not very happy about his last resting place - I always felt he should be buried in Neverland".

Michael Jackson was entombed in the massive marble and concrete Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, on September 3.

Jermaine Jackson said he was sure that, eventually, that the King of Pop would be reinterred at Neverland Ranch.

Apparently not yet!

Michael Jackson sighting a thrill for Crown St Mall shoppers

BY BRENNA QUINLAN
25/09/2009 1:11:00 PM

The crowd looked on in amazement yesterday as Michael Jackson, apparently alive and well, dined at a Crown St Mall cafe.

Describing himself as the best Jackson impersonator of all time, CP Lacey was in Wollongong as part of his Reflections of Michael: Man in the Mirror tour.

Lacey has been impersonating the star since Jackson's song Billy Jean was released in 1982.

The first new Michael Jackson song to be posthumously released is scheduled for October 12. A film of his last concert rehearsals will be released two weeks later, along with a two-disc set of his hits.
