I've tried looking online at the websites, but haven't had much luck translating the sites to find nearby locations of these stores. Does anyone know of any in the Seocho-gu area? I'm between the Isu and Naebang stations (Line 7). I know there's a Kim's Club at the Express Bus Terminal station but the prices seemed kind of high.
Thanks in advance. |

That area is terrible for grocery stores. Kim's Club is the best and it has a lot of good foreign products, it's clean and has great produce. I never noticed it being more expensive, but maybe a little.
You could also go by subway to Sinyongsan Station, it's only 3 stops away from Isu (on line 4, not line 7). From exit 4, you'll see I-Park Mall and there's a nice big EMart there.
There's also a Korean mid-sized grocery store in the basement of Taepyong Dept Store right at Isu. It's not great, but it will do in a pinch if you need some basics and don't want to travel. |

Oh and how could I forget Highway Mart, the grossest grocery store ever. It is pretty bad, but it is a grocery store and sometimes we're desperate. Their produce is terrible, their fish stinks up the whole back of the store and they go overboard yelling into the microphones, but you can get some basic groceries there. It's really close to Naebang, on that road connecting Isu and Naebang. If you're closer to Isu, then the Taepyeong Dept Store grocery is better.
Of course the area around Isu is full of vendors on the sidewalks and alleys selling everything, and that's where you can get some really cheap produce. |
