|
|
I was walking near the Emart in my area, and I walked by a store that was playing what I thought at first to be "This Love" by Maroon 5. After listen closer though, I realized it was some kind of Korean rap song where the artist had just used the EXACT music from the beginning of the song. Does anyone know the song I'm referring to? Just curious. |

It's not a rip off, it 's a Korean version. |

That's what I thought at first, but the guy doing the rapping isn't really singing with the music in the same way that Maroon 5 does. He uses it more like a rap beat, and just sort of raps by saying the words rather than singing. That's why I thought it was a rip-off and not just a translation. |

Haha thanks for the clarification. I've heard in the past of Korean groups allegedly ripping off the music from artists in the USA, so I wasn't sure if this was the case. |

And I wonder how many American, Canadian, British, and so on and so on, singers rip off other singers' material? |

None. They have to pay for it, hence no "ripoff". |

And in some cases, they are actually asked to do them. Craig David for example asked Wheesung to do the Korean version of 'Insomnia' |

There are tons of rip-off songs. If this was not allowed there would be no such think as K-pop.
Quick story...
Once I walked into a cell phone store and i heard the beat of "Hit 'em up" by Tupac. In my head I automatically assumed it was just another unoriginal Korean rip-off, but then a few seconds later the lyrics came back in and it was the actualy original, with all profainity included. There were parents with their elementary aged kids in the store. It was one of my first few months in Korea. |

Everyone rip off songs in Asia. Plus, there wouldn't be any asian rip-off from k-pop such as c-pop or t-pop, if k-pop didn't exist. |

A lot of Asian pop music is heavily inspired by early Scandinavian stuff. We Europeans just love it. In actual fact some K-Pop has been produced by Danish writers. |
