Hi,
For anyone with a car here in Korea,...have you found a good insurance company here with affordable rates and hopefully an English speaking rep to get in touch with when necessary. I would really appreciate any help or references you can send my way.
Have a great one........... |

Best if you have a Korean-speaker help: Lotte Direct.
Decent, if you only speak English: AIG (AIA) insurance through Gina in Yongsan.
Same car was 500,000 a year through AIG, and 350,000 through Lotte Direct. Nearly same coverage. |

Hi,
Bumping this in order to get more replies. Also, can it be done over the phone or on line. If anyone has a phone number with an English speaking rep that would be great,...and of course an web site would be helpful.
Appreciate all help,....thanks!! |

Others might have an insight to companies with Englishee. I was insured with Hi-car Direct for a couple of years and always had to have my gf call/interpret. The rates were not bad, but the communication was impossible. |

Depends on your car really (and coverage type). I pay 1.1M a year through Samsung which is still much more affordable than what I paid back home. The process was over the phone and relatively painless. Will try to find a number for you tomorrow. |

Thanks rmparent and bassexpander for your input. Had contacted an AIG agent but they would not insure my 1995 car. If it were a 96 or newer they would have.
Will look for your Samsung number tomorrow rmparent if you get it.
Thanks so much........... |

heyalan,
1588-5114 is the number for Myanycar (Samsung car insurance).
Sorry, I'm not sure if they have English speaking operators but am assuming that they do since it's a big company. The dealer where I bought my car just had them call me and they just asked me a few questions (I answered in my limited Korean) and then just charged my credit card.
I imagine that if your car is a 95, it shouldn't be more than 500,000 KRW to insure. |

Given how many accidents seem to happen in Korea, that sure does sound cheap. How much coverage do these plans give you? What's the deductible? |
