I'm planning ahead and I will be teaching ESL in China, however, I wouldn't mind going to Korean for a winter camp since I really enjoyed Korea and pretty much have January and February off. Does anyone know if I can bring all my docs with me from the States and apply for a C4 Visa while in China or maybe even in Korea as a tourist? I would appreciate the answers. Thank you! |

Yes, even if you've never held a C-4 before (you don't say)... if you have no history of Immigration 'offences'; and you have your degree verified by the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE).
The employer must iniate the verification process, and to do so will require the original copy of your sheepskin (or a copy verified by a Korean embassy/consulate). |

Cool. I actually did a C4 Visa this past summer. Guess I need the same docs again? County level bg check, notarized diploma, etc. BTW, do you know when Winter camps in Korea generally run between, date wise. Also, do you know about any other camps outside of Korea but in Asia? Thanks for your advice!

Because you've held a C-4 in the past and have no 'record', there is no need for degree verification (or a requirement for an interview in your home country) in order to apply from a third country.
However, double check with the embassy/consulate re: your CRC - you use the term "county" which leads me to assume (always a mistake) you are from the U.S. - Kimmi keeps changing the requirements.
In K-land, 'winter camps' are generally held between the end of December and mid February. |

lol Thanks and yeah, I'm from the U.S.
And I probably would be teaching in Korea right now if it wasn't for the extensive paperwork involved in the E2 visa but alas, rules are rules and serve a purpose...
btw, do you know if winter camps like my previous summer camp, have P.T. positions? I don't want to do any more 6 days a week camps. NO WAY...

I have no idea.
Why... don't you like being 'ddong-chimmed' fourteen hours a day for seven days a week? |

When the school director doesn't provide supplies to function a 4 week long camp and there are report cards, English journals and a mighty performance to be conducted on the last day (once again, with no supplies. Hand made anyone??), HELL NO.
