|
|
hi all,
if any of the forum experts could please advise,
what is the most effective way to get hold of a signed copy of the contract (signed by the director of the hogwan)?
my first hogwan job last year, it took me 9 months to get a hold of the signed contract. I even went to the immigration office who refused to provide a copy.
my contract had obligations that the director was not wanting to honor and this caused me undue stress.
This time, i want a signed contract copy ON DAY 1...for my own protection, that i can take to the labor board in a worst case scenario situation.
i don't want a repeat of this bad experience
thanks for any answers

In my experience ( 9 years and counting) I have found the most effective way to get a copy of the contract is to ask for it. |

agreed. you would think that would solve the problem, but in my case it didn't.
guess i'm looking for more effective strategies without damaging relations with the director. |

I wouldn't worry about damaging relations with the director.
If you are a bad teacher and he kicks you out for losing him students...that will cause damaged relations anyway.
If you are a good teacher, (you bring in or keep students) and you don't re-sign on with him for a second year, he will be angry and that will cause damaged relations regardless.
In other words it doesn't matter what you do to avoid ruptured relations... might as well get the contract out of it. |

If your boss doesn't want to give it, call immigration and ask for a copy. |

| Doesn't he want a copy of your passport and diploma? When he gives a copy of the contract, then you give the stuff he wants. |
