Yeah Iwas sick to death of the swine flu 'pandemic'. Every day someone had to start on about it and everyone had that stupid handwash stuff. I read recently that 20,000 people die everyday from hunger, and that regular flu kills far more people than swine flu has. Get a grip.
People really are really selfish. Deal with Africa before you get upset about some 'bug' that isnt even that dangerous. Selfish.
In fact I remember overhearing some guy on the bus saying he thought cancer was the great equalizer of society. What a knobhead. I wanted to start on him but he looked really dishevelled. |

I blame the media for blowing everything out of proportion in their never ending quest for the next big "news story". |

| Yeah the media are a joke, and it clearly was them who created the panic. But theyre just looking for a story like you say. I blame more the sheep who cant have a rational thought for themselves like you or I and have to do exactly what they are told. It is worse than ever. And I dont know if ur English but most of these people read the Metro, which is a beyond a joke free papaer you get on the bus to work! Honestly, what a bunch of idiots and I thought I was getting away from them going into teaching! |

Yeah, people rely on the media too much. I was visiting my hometown when this whole H1N1 thing broke out in Mexico early this summer, and my Dad's girlfriend was going on and on about it. I was just like, calm down, there's no reason to get paranoid about these things! If it's actually going to kill us all off, there's probably not a lot we can do about it. No need to cause yourself undue stress about these sorts of issues. |

I love that story about Panorama in the 70s, where they ran a story about the spaghetti tree famine on April Fools Day, and loadsa people called up in a panic |

| Yeah when we float off into the sun. Not from mild disease. If we survived the Black Plague and survived Spanish flu, and 2 world wars we arent about to die because of some mild flu are we? |

| If you want to avoid MRSA avoid spending too much time in hospital (though the unscrupulous use of antibiotics in the US has caused their rates of MRSA to be higher then most of the developed world). |

Having personally worked in a hospital throughout the 90's, I can assure you that MRSA isn't new.
When I worked as a porter (part-time job), I often had to deal with MRSA patients. We were to wear protective clothing, a mask, gloves, and booties when entering their rooms or coming into contact with them. MRSA spreads easily, but the good news is that it doesn't affect the healthy, but instead attacks people already suffering from pre-existing conditions, such as pneumonia, or the very old and weak.
Really, nothing to get too worked up about... |
