|
|
This morning a few ladies wearing surgical masks were in front of the school armed with ear thermometers checking the students' temperature.
I didn't think much of it and then they stopped me and checked mine!
I thought maybe I had a bit of a fever, but she just said "Pass" and waved me through. It reminded me of Incheon Airport.
Anyone else have health gatekeepers at their school? |

We do have a hand sanitizer that sprays soap when you walk in at the door. It's very popular. Everything is so clean! |

Yeah, yesterday at every entrance to the school. No nurses though - two of my coworkers, one of whom was coughing when I walked up... |

There's been some old biddy in this huge white face mask at our school gate this week. A student walked through with a face mask and she lept over to her - but didn't do anything. I suppose the kid told old-face-mask that she was under mummy instructions not to get flue at school.
I've got a sore throat and feel something coming on. Will they incaserate me - or something worse? |

No teachers were tested as far as I know. All students were temp. tested prior to entering this morning. I believe it is a national priority for some lenght of time! |

The teachers are out doing it in the mornings at my school.
we have fun testing each other and saying, "ok you'll live today" and stuff like that.
Thing was i did come back sick (ear infection from flying so much) and other teachers wanted me to cough on them! haha |

I'll get to find out tomorrow if I get tested. *excited*
Today, right before lunch, we were informed that starting tomorrow, students will have their temperatures taken before entering the school. Shortly after arriving in the lunch room, one of the other teachers from the school started laying into my CT while pointing at me with a thermometer. I ate my kimchi. |

At my school all the students are tested before entering the building but teachers don't have to do it. |

It's a ridiculous attempt at show....... I hate this stuff. At my hagwon they were only going around getting the foreigner's temps for awhile until I put up a stink. Some Koreans did it for a bit and some still do, but not all. But they do come around to get ours when they have the time. I even had to finally insist they open a new alcohol swab before sticking the dirty probe in my ears. The "nurse" was surprised at first and said "it's okay". "No, dirty" I replied.
It's a farce. They don't know how to protect from the flu. No one does, except to stay home when sick. But Koreans don't like that, unless it supports their prejudiced or paranoid delusions. Checking at school is a joke. If a fever is found, then too late. The person is already there and the place is contaminated. Not to mention, having "quarantined" travelers or those on sick leave come in to check to make sure their here or hand off work. It's unbelievable watching these idiots work. By "these idiots" I don't mean Koreans. Just stupid people. It's all for show as usual here. |

They found a kid here in our town with the swine flu. They started checking at all the schools. Same old themometer, no little plastic thingy, same wipe. If they don't pass the swine flu around they sure will pass pig ear. |

My school just started doing that yesterday. Just before 6th period, all the staff were called to the main office and the news was announced that one student was diagnosed with the new flu virus. The school nurse then distributed digital thermometers and alcohol swabs to all the homeroom teachers. The homeroom teachers must take the students' temperature at the beginning and the end of the day. |

I wondered about this? Is it possible to pass it ear to ear? I don't see why not I guess. |

I have no idea. But they are passing germs of some kind. The way they eat is kinda like kissing everyone at the table anyway. |
