Rape is epidemic throughout the world. As sex is taboo in most countries, the laws that surround it and their enforcement are generally out of whack.

Korea seems to have failed in this area as much as the US and almost every other country in the world, but it's not really fair to focus on a few outrageous cases here.

Wannna see a culture of rape? Just go look at any American institution. jails, churches, college campuses. I'm sure the list goes.

He will bow his head, say he is 'very sorry' and nothing will happen to him.

After all, precedent in this country says he should be forgiven, so I won't hold my breathe for any real sense of justice.

A news article on Naver said the man raped individual women multiple times. He came back to their apartments months later and raped them again.

Would be nice to have a more liberal outlook on firearms in incidents like these.

Extremely wealthy men don't NEED to rape women.

Women rape extremely wealthy men.

Don't people lock their doors? I would figure if a woman was raped once, she'd take extra precautions so that it doesn't happen again.

Eventually those doors must be unlocked. He could have followed them home and sneaked up on them as they entered their apartment. Or simply changed what he did last time.

It probably changes randomly, but there's an ad on that page for a dating service... the ad showed a photo of a guy, which said, "I'm a 39 year-old man looking for a woman between the ages of 18 and 25."

I just about spit my breakfast out all over the screen.

No screenshot?

There was something similar to this on the Marmots hole, only the guy doing it found volunteers readily. He was a cab driver, and police found 200 pairs of female panties in his closet. He was supposed to have videoed himself doing it on the odd occasion as well. only big problem as that he had aids.

Robbers and rapists routinely climb into windows that are left open to let air in.
This guy said he used the gas pipes attached to the outside of buildings to climb up and into.

Do NOT leave your windows open/unlocked unless they have bars over them. It does not matter if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor.
It's not that hard to climb if one were so inclined.

Korea is a safe country........for men!

It's pretty safe for rapists, too

How can anyone feel safe. We've got rapists, murderers, a killer flu, and an upcoming economic meltdown.

If I were an ostrich, at least I could hide my head in the sand.

What, and leave your butt out in the open?

Has it escaped everyone's notice that some of the victims were raped multiple times. They had to know his identity.

Korea is safe for women too. All the K women I knew in the states who lived in tough areas said Korea was 100X safer. They thought Korea WAS dangerous but that the USA was even scarier. The world is a scary place for women in general. At least in Korea they knew the territory. Same for expat women over in America, it probably feels scarier here because the lack of knowledge of the territory.

How any male feel THAT scared in Korea is beyond me. I think some of the fear is self fed by surfing for scary news reports and articles about foreigners getting into bad situations. You read about crime constantyl you will see criminals everywhere- it's called paranoia.

Apparently, the males are more concerned about this thread more than women.

Hilarious.
