First student bust; kind of an accident; feeling guilty.

I consistently feel guilty, working as a teacher. For instance, I have a hard time chastising my after school class "teacher he run away!"ers, considering I spent the majority of high school finding ways to skip classes.

Today, after lunch, I came up a back stairway only to be greeted by a strong waft of cigarette smoke coming from above and a student at the bottom of the landing who looked a little panicked at first, but quickly recovered, pointed upward and said, "Teacher! Smoking!"

I went up to the landing to find three very recently extinguished cigarette butts. Went back to the teachers' office and jokingly reported the incident to the other teachers. Could I identify the student who was at the bottom of the landing? Yes, I could, if I saw him, but I don't know his name or class number....

As luck would have it, he walked into the office at that exact moment.

First he tried to tell the teachers that he had actually reported the smoking to me and therefore could not be the one who had done it. His homeroom teacher got his bag and found the pack, matching the brand found on the landing. As I was heading out, two other students were being dragged in by their ears.

Poor babies.

I feel so guilty.

But that's what they get for thinking the weoneomin is a babo who can't keep their faces straight.

Usually it's on the mountain, behind the school. I don't know what the little darlings were thinking. Smoking in the open stairwell is pretty ballsy.

Gotta do it. It's part of your job as a teacher.

I know. But I don't have to like it.
