Freedom of speech for individual citizens is a good thing. Freedom of speech for something like Nike Corporation, or the Health Insurance Industry, is actively destructive to our society. Give a corporation the right to say what it wants, and it will use it to lie any time it thinks a lie can increase its monetary gains. Let it lie, and people will believe the lie. Because the interests of these corporations are totally different than the interests of the general public, people believing those lies is a bad thing for all of us.

Results-based social philosophy is much better than principle-based social philosophy, and the results of increasing corporate freedom of speech are clear: more corporate lies making more people believe in more false things. When we have poll results like this floating around, I don't think you can make a serious case that the average citizen is savvy enough to not be taken in.

Free speech is for individual people. Regardless of what the SC says, corporations are not people. Corporations have interests, but those interests can be protected by the people who own or work in those corporations contributing their time and money just like the rest of humanity. If it doesn't have a heart beat, it shouldn't get to make campaign contributions.

To paraphrase Very Happy Roger B. Taney: [Corporations] "had no rights which the white man was bound to respect." [If the SC was so wrong on one issue, it is possible they have been profoundly wrong on another.]

You are aware that some corporations CAN be people, yes?

Many individuals can create their own private corporation wrapped around their assets. A corporation is not always some faceless entity or bunch of buildings.

When it comes right down to it, it's really nothing more than a bunch of papers with a lawyer's signature on them.
