Hey D,
You forgot the "T" in TESOL. It isn't ESOL, under Shenandoah. Very Happy |
Thanks, changed. As you well know, when making content/writing - we need the watchful eyes of readers to clean things up. I'm sure others will come up with a few more "mistakes" (not errors.....)
Cheers,
DD

No worries. I'd hate for someone to go through some of my stuff.
Great list though. |

Why are these second tier distance degrees so dang expensive? 15,000 for basically a self study program?
S-C-A-M.
I do all the reading, teach myself everything and write a paper. You do nothing but five me a score. What an easy gig. Heck, they don't even have to hold regular class times or office hours. They don't need to do anything really. |

| PS - How much does it cost anyways? The full program plus books? |
Back in 2003-2005, the Birmingham course was 6 payments of 2.2 million each- so about 13 million won. As for books, well I'm sure you know the drill. Ordering them new is normally the most expensive way, then you got Kyobo, Bandi and Luni, and others. Also friends for borrowing. A copied book costs about 10,000 or so. Overall, probably around another million or so. |

| Which one of these scams is the cheapest? I'd like to have a master's so I can get a uni gig. Heck, I'll even teach myself everything. I don't want to pay a year's savings to have someone give me minimal to no feedback, and basically a receipt, er, degree at the end of it. |

Spongebob,
Thanks but well aware of TESOL and those lists...
My addition was first of all for ONLINE courses. Second, to sort through the chaff and post up courses that are substantial and to some degree challenging and offering "goods" .
I'm a Buddhist by default, it is about quality .............. and also as the Eagles sang, "forgiveness".....
When I open up my own Master's course, I hope you'll join. It'll be free, the only payment, your own energy....

I highly doubt that list of distance TESOL programs is accurate. There is no way you can get an MA from a Canadian University, apart from Royal Roads and Athabasca, doing distance ed, especially in TESOL. Anyways, it's only North America. Hardly a mother list. |
