|
|
I'm not renewing with my current school but I have signed a contract with a different one. I am finishing my contract with my current school on October 7th and beginning the new one on November 9th.
I am going back to the states for the month in between, and I was wondering what I need to do to get the visa/passport situation taken care of before I go home so that I don't have to visit the korean consulate while I am home.
A friend of mine just did this [only his school did all the work for him] so I know it is possible, I just don't know what I need to do [and neither does my new school.]
I guess I'm just confused as to how I can get a new visa when my old contract isn't completed yet.
I was told that all I should need to do is take the new contract, my ARC and my passport to immi and they should change it over for me. Then, when I leave, I would have to pay a 30,000 won fee because it would likely be a single entry visa. But there's something about this that seems wrong, because he didn't have to leave the country to get the new visa with the new school.
Hope this makes sense. If I wasn't clear about any of the information, I'd be happy to clarify.
Any help or links to information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

It's not possible. You will need a new visa and all that entails. Your friend must have been either: tranferring his visa, or extending his period of sojourn. |

no, he wasn't. he completed his contract with his previous school and got his passport back [with the visa for the new school in it] before he left to go home for a couple of weeks. |
