| what does it mean? did you get positive or negative evaluations by your students? |

| Some public schools have the children evaluate the FT which plays a part in your re-hiring. |

My after school students filled out an evaluation. Of course all the kids who act out and have to be punished say "Mean teacher! Bad teacher! Mean teacher!" while the kids who behave in class and do their work all say "I love you teacher! I love you teacher!"
I think what my boss doesn't realize is, I don't really give a f*@K. Why anyone would want to stay in Korea more than a year is beyond me (especially if their students hate them enough for the school not to renew them). But that discussion is for another time.
Out of curiosity, are you guys saying the morning students evaluate the teachers as well? That's a lot of evaluations to read! |

Yes they do...you read your evaluations? |
Haha, yeah my boss sat me down and translated them. My worst kids were saying things like "Teacher, please don't send me out of the room anymore, I don't like it."
But the positive ones were very nice to hear. Some kids wrote very nice messages |

My school did student evaluations when I was coming up for contract renewal.
My kids had two complaints. One was that I didn't speak Korean. The other was that I spoke too loud.
Only three kids in the school said that I shouldn't get a new contract. So it was good for me. |

It means exactly nothing. If they want to get rid of you, for any reason, they will use it as an excuse not to hire you. If you are handsome/pretty (regardless of teaching ability) or they like you for whatever nebulous reason, you are golden. |

The Korean teachers has a meeting about that this week and are a little on edge about them, but I didn't know if they were for the foreign teachers.
I know my co-teacher evaluates me at the end of the semester, but I don't think the kids do. |

Yep second what Rusty said. Also, they often use them as a square up if you've caused them any problems. Sadly teaching ability takes a back seat to politics and your relationship with your co-teacher and admin.
But in the end, who is really going to loose any sleep over it? |
