What made you want to leave and then come back? I'm wondering if I'll be in the same boat once I leave or even if I should leave in the first place. I don't hate Korea but like most foreigners, I find it a bit frustrating at times. But it's got a lot of good things in it that I could see myself sorely missing. So what made you come back to the Hermit Kingdom?

I was in Thailand for a year but I couldn't save any money. S I came back. I wont be going back home. No one I know back there is still employed.

I left cause I had trouble with my school, and so it was kind of sudden issues and the new visa regs had just kicked in, so I needed new docs I didn't have. I debated about staying vs leaving, but they were paying my flight back, finally, so I went back. I figured I'd probably come back, but I wasn't sure. Things were frustrating with work at the time, though, and I was happy to leave. I decided that I did want to come back because of my friends. Plus, I enjoyed my life in Korea, I just hadn't liked my job. Now I'm happy.

Yeah, there are frustrating things sometimes, but there are also great things and on the whole I'm enjoying living here.

I am never coming back- 37 days to go. People who come back must have a short memory.

105 lessons to go - and then I'm free. But I know that after 4 months on the beach - I'll be missing the kids and getting ready to come back.

Everything is great here in the US. I'm telling you, people on this website really overexagerate how difficult it is to get a good job in America. I just moved to the city I like with my degree, resume, and a few contacts, without anything really set in stone. And it worked out great.

I think that a lot of people who say that there are no good jobs in America are being too picky, or they are noobs to the American job market and can't handle it. Yes, getting a good job in America is a lot more competetive and difficult than the red carpet treatment you get in Korea. But there is a ton of opportunity here.

That's what I said after my 1st. year too, but after looking over the job prospects in other countries I decided Korea was my best bet overall.

Now I'm not so sure I made the right decision. I wish I had gone elsewhere.

It would have been nice to experience something other than Korea.

It was time to teach again in another place. But the most recent time I returned to Korea, it was time to be in Korea and doing something other than teaching.

I left Korea to do my doctorate. I came back because there were no jobs for English professors in North America, anywhere, at any salary. Although I admit I missed the place a little.

Care to elaborate on what else you ended up doing? I've always been interested in using teaching as a stepping stone to Korea Inc.

I smoked myself retarded and reconvinced myself it would be a good idea...It's easy to make a decent living here, work few hours and study and upgrade skills to get a better job in the future.
