Wow a lot of Job ads on Worknplay et al are specifying 'Caucasian only' Amercians / Canadians now....

Look, they only want Caucasians because they have white skin, which for Koreans culturally means someone who was not in the fields and could afford to stay indoors and become educated.
I mean, what's the big deal? |

Its more than that.
You see, Korean wangjangnims just know that if they hire non-Caucasian teachers, they're going to upset their students. Of course, if you give the non-Caucasian teacher a trial run with the students, and the students seem comfortable, the wangjangnims also know better. The students are just being polite, and they want the wangjangnim to be the bad guy and get a proper Caucasian teacher.
So you see, the wangjangnim knows best. That's why they run the hagwon in the first place. I mean, to take this argument further, imagine if a Caucasian ran a hagwon. It would be a complete disaster. |
