Hey everyone, I will be leaving the states for Korea here in a few weeks. I'm heading to this tiny town called Yeongam in the province of Jeollanam-do. I'm really pumped to become a teacher and get out there in the real world. I haven't really found a whole lot of info on this town, nor do I know if there are any other expats. If anyone has ever been there or is currently living there it would be great to get any kind of info in terms of things to do, see, etc. Or if you also live in a small town you could put your two cents on life in rural Korea. Thanks |

Some of the best looking women and the best tasting food in Korea. Be warned, though, if you learn Korean there and go to Seoul speaking it, people will laugh at you for dialect in the pronunciation. |

I live in a small city (>10K) in Kyongnam, and am very happy there. People are friendly, there's no stress, and the views are lovely. There are several other foreigners here, and am less than an hour's bus-ride from a major city, but I'd like it here without any of those things. Reading Dave's is like reading a novel for me, as the experiences spoken of here aren't reflected in my life at all. |

Almost. I was in a relationship at the time that failed miserably and I regretted not moving there. Been through a couple of times. Nice scenery as someone else said. |
