As we reported earlier, the Wondergirls were present for the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins Major League baseball game. They rooted for the Cleveland Indians to support Koreas very own player Choo Shin-soo.The girls were quite busy; singing the classic take me out to the ballgame, teaching the teams the infamous Nobody dance, and even performing after the game for the Taste of Cleveland event |

Christ, "Nobody"? Again? You know, they're touring the US in support of the Jonas Brothers (maybe that's over now), and they only did one song at the show. Yep, "Nobody." And outside the venues they taught the dance outside their tour bus. I give them credit for paying their dues, but talk about one-trick ponies.
I hate Asian poses by the way, hate 'em. Let's take a picture without doing something ridiculous with your hands next to your face, k thx. |

Do the girls have a legitimate shot at making any sort of significant impact on the U.S pop scene? I'm guessing the answer's gonna be no from most people here.
I've actually got a soft spot for them and hope that they succeed (major long shot). I arrived in Korea just when Nobody was released and it was played everywhere. And as we all know, music is the soundtrack of our lives. I like Big Bang-Sunset Glow for that very reason
Here's the U.S music video.

Do they even have an album out or is it just that single. Every video that pops up on youtube is that same damn song. |

I think "Nobody" is the only song that they've translated into English, so it makes sense that they would only perform that one.
On brighter note I did see a recent interview with them (in English) and I was actually impressed with how far (3 out of 5 of them at least) they've come along with their conversational English.

You missed out on "Tell Me". It was literally being played everywhere and being imitated by everyone. |

Its called a love-hate relationship. Anyways, don't be jealous of the USA's popularity. |

Good God man. The song isn't even that good to me, it's just K-pop with more synthesized vocals. And why do they all look just like each other??? I can distinguish between Asian faces pretty well, but they are hard to tell from one another. Kind of like a former American group called the Dream Girls who also dressed the same way...........hey...WAIT A SECOND
Korea, be yourself. Becoming "modern" doesn't mean becoming "pop-culture trashy" and copying other countries' genres because old school Korean folk music strains many peoples ears, myself included. |
